My name is Ashton, a graphic designer with roots in Portland, Oregon. Growing up, I was surrounded by creative people who showed me the value of story telling, as well as aesthetics (thank you dad). However, I was also taught that design and creativity is not solely about making things look good, but rather about the use of visual elements to communicate ideas and emotions.

I originally went to school for product design, but after a semester of physics and calculus I realized I had made a mistake. I always knew that I wanted to go into a creative field and now I knew that I didn't want my creativity to be dictated by "the laws of physics" or whatever. I wanted my creative outlets to be free from what was deemed possible and have the ability to pursue the impossible. 

Like most things in life, the best creative executions don't happen alone. Collaboration and the act of bringing different perspectives, ideas, and experiences together is what leads to truly special things and that applies to design and visual communication.
